Our story

A boutique hotel run by travellers, with a very big view.

We opened Hostalio Pyramid View with one belief: travelers coming to see the Pyramids and the new Grand Egyptian Museum deserve more than a faceless chain hotel. They deserve mint tea on the rooftop, a warm plate of ful medames at breakfast, and someone at reception who actually remembers their name.

Our team — a small crew of passionate travel experts — still runs the front desk, the kitchen and the rooftop restaurant ourselves. If something isn't right, you'll be talking to the person who can fix it, not a call center.

We keep prices honest so the hotel stays welcoming to backpackers, couples and families alike. Come as guests, leave as friends, and bring a rooftop sunset story home with you.

Top attractions nearby

A local shortlist from our front desk — real distances, real drive times, and the small tips you won't find on TripAdvisor.

1. Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM)

500 m · 2 min drive · 7 min walk

The world's largest archaeological museum, home to the complete Tutankhamun collection and 100,000+ artifacts. We can book skip-the-line tickets and English or Arabic guides for you.

Local tip — Go early morning — the galleries are calmest before 11am.

2. The Great Pyramids of Giza

3.9 km · 10 min drive

The last surviving wonder of the ancient world. Enter the Pyramid of Khufu, ride a camel around the plateau, or watch the Sound & Light show at night.

Local tip — Ask reception for our trusted driver — no tourist mark-up.

3. The Sphinx

4.2 km · 12 min drive

The 4,500-year-old guardian of the plateau. Combine your visit with the Solar Boat Museum and a sunset stop at Panorama Point.

Local tip — Best photos from the temple ruins in front of the Sphinx.

4. Saqqara & the Step Pyramid

19 km · 30 min drive

The oldest large stone building in the world, plus dozens of tombs with vivid painted reliefs. Quieter than Giza and just as impressive.

Local tip — Perfect half-day tour — we can pair it with Dahshur.

5. Old Cairo & Khan El-Khalili

16 km · 25 min drive

Wander the medieval bazaar, sip mint tea at El Fishawy café, and visit Al-Azhar mosque. A must-do evening.

Local tip — Bring cash and bargain kindly — it's part of the fun.

6. Egyptian Museum (Tahrir Square)

21 km · 30 min drive

The original 1902 museum, still worth a visit for its royal mummies and Old Kingdom statues before the collection fully moves to the GEM.

Local tip — Combine with a Nile felucca ride at sunset.
