Frequently asked questions

Everything you'd ask before booking a hotel or dormitory in Giza.

Questions from real guests about our hotel rooms, our dormitory (rated by backpackers as one of the best hostels in Egypt), the rooftop Egyptian breakfast, airport pickup, tickets for the Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum, and travelling in Egypt.

Location & getting here

How far is the hotel from the Great Pyramids of Giza?

About 3.9 km (roughly a 10-minute drive). Our reception team can arrange a driver, or you can grab a taxi/Uber from the front door.

How close are you to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM)?

The Grand Egyptian Museum is only 500 metres away — about a 2-minute drive or a 7-minute walk. Many guests visit the GEM in the morning and the Pyramids in the afternoon.

Do you offer airport pickup from Cairo International or Sphinx International?

Yes. We arrange private airport transfers 24/7 from both Cairo International Airport (about 55 minutes away) and Sphinx International Airport (about 35 minutes). Send us your flight details on WhatsApp and we'll quote a fixed price.

Is the neighbourhood (Kafr Ghatati, Al Haram) safe at night?

Yes — it's a quiet residential street in Giza with local families, small shops and a 24-hour reception at the hotel. Guests regularly walk to nearby cafés and koshari places in the evening.

Hotel rooms

What types of hotel rooms do you offer?

Single rooms, double rooms with queen or twin beds, triple rooms and a family suite with a private terrace and pyramid view. Every hotel room is air-conditioned with a private en-suite bathroom, free WiFi and a flat-screen TV.

Do all rooms have a pyramid view?

Not every private room faces the Pyramids, but every guest — hotel or dormitory — has full access to our rooftop terrace with an unobstructed view of the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Are the rooms suitable for families with children?

Yes. Our triple rooms and the family suite are popular with families, and cots can be added on request. Children are welcome across the hotel.

Is early check-in or late check-out available?

Whenever possible, yes — it depends on the day's occupancy. Message us on WhatsApp with your arrival or departure time and we'll do our best to hold the room for you.

Dormitory & hostel

Is the dormitory mixed or single-gender?

Our dormitory is a bright, clean mixed dorm with shared bathrooms — ideal for solo travellers and backpackers exploring Egypt on a budget.

What's included with a dorm bed?

Every dorm bed includes fresh linen, a personal locker (bring your own padlock or ask reception), free fast WiFi, rooftop access with pyramid view, 24-hour reception and a high-quality homemade Egyptian breakfast on the rooftop.

Why do travellers call this the best dormitory in Egypt?

Most hostels in Egypt give you a bunk and a shared kitchen. We add a rooftop with the Great Pyramids on one side and the Grand Egyptian Museum on the other, a real Egyptian breakfast every morning, and a team that helps you book Pyramid tickets, GEM tickets and onward trips to Luxor or Aswan.

Do you accept solo female travellers in the dorm?

Yes — solo female travellers are welcome. Reception is staffed 24/7 and lockers are provided. If you'd prefer a private room, our single and double hotel rooms are also very affordable.

Breakfast & food

Is breakfast included?

A high-quality homemade Egyptian breakfast is served every morning on the rooftop and is included with every hotel room and dormitory bed booking that includes breakfast. Look for the 'with breakfast' option on the booking form, or ask reception on arrival.

What's on the Egyptian breakfast?

Hot ful medames, freshly cooked eggs, warm baladi bread, feta cheese, olives, tomato and cucumber, honey and jam, plus mint tea or Turkish coffee — served with the Pyramids in view.

Do you offer lunch and dinner on the rooftop?

Yes. Our rooftop restaurant serves Egyptian classics as well as biryani, burgers and lighter meals throughout the day. Vegetarian options are always available; let the kitchen know about allergies or halal preferences.

Booking, payment & policies

How do I book directly with the hotel?

The fastest way is WhatsApp — message us on +20 155 491 0100 with your dates, number of guests and room type. We usually confirm within the hour, day or night. You can also book on Booking.com, but booking direct is always the best value.

Do you charge a booking fee or resort fee?

No. We don't add booking fees, resort fees or hidden charges. The price you're quoted on WhatsApp is the price you pay at check-in.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash (Egyptian pounds, US dollars or euros) and most major credit cards at reception. Bank transfer is available for longer stays or groups — ask us on WhatsApp.

What is your cancellation policy?

Standard direct bookings can be cancelled free of charge until 48 hours before check-in. Full terms are on our Refund & Cancellation Policy page — please review it before booking.

Are pets or service animals allowed?

No. Pets and service animals are not allowed anywhere on the property — including private rooms, dorms, common areas, the rooftop and the restaurant. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

Practical Egypt questions

Do I need a visa to visit Egypt?

Most nationalities can get a tourist visa on arrival at Cairo Airport (currently 25 USD, cash) or apply online for an e-visa before travel. Always check the latest rules with your local Egyptian consulate before flying.

Can you help me book Pyramid tickets, GEM tickets and tours?

Yes — our reception team books entry tickets for the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum, and arranges licensed Egyptologist guides, camel/horse rides at sunrise, and day trips to Sakkara, Dahshur, Luxor and Aswan.

Is drinking water safe? Should I buy bottled water?

We recommend bottled water for drinking — it's cheap and available everywhere in Giza. Bottled water is also sold at reception 24/7.

Do you have WiFi throughout the hotel?

Yes — free, fast WiFi covers every room, the dormitory and the rooftop terrace, so you can video-call home from under the Pyramids.

Still have a question?

Our 24-hour reception team replies on WhatsApp within the hour — usually much faster. Ask us anything about rooms, transfers, tours or travelling in Egypt.
