1. Private Hotel Transfer (The Stress-Free Option)

We always recommend a private transfer for first-time visitors or those arriving late at night. You won’t need to negotiate prices in a foreign currency or navigate complex terminal exits.

2. Ride-Sharing Apps (Uber and Careem)

Uber is widely used and very reliable in Cairo. Both Uber and its Middle Eastern counterpart, Careem, operate from the airport.

To use this option, you will need a local SIM card (available at kiosks in the arrivals hall) or a roaming data plan. Once you request a ride, the app will specify a pickup point, usually located in a designated parking area or a specific lane outside the terminal.

• Tip: Cairo drivers often call you to confirm your exact location. If you don't speak Arabic, it can be helpful to ask a local bystander to tell the driver which gate you are standing at.
• Price: Expect to pay between $10 and $20 USD depending on the vehicle type and demand.
• Pros: Transparent pricing and GPS tracking.

3. White Taxis

Cairo’s "White Taxis" are the standard local cabs. You will find them lined up outside every terminal. They are required by law to use a meter, but many drivers will attempt to negotiate a flat fee instead.

If you choose a taxi, ensure the driver turns on the meter before the car moves. If they refuse, it is better to find another car. Keep in mind that many local taxi drivers may not speak fluent English, so have the address of Hostalio Pyramid View written down or saved on your phone in Arabic.

4. Public Transport and Shuttles
