This means you can visit the Great Staircase, the commercial area, and the hanging obelisk, but some of the main galleries may still be restricted. Local Tip: Even if the full collection isn't open during your visit, the architecture itself is a marvel. The glass facade reflects the pyramids, and the internal cooling systems make it a perfect escape during the midday heat.

3. Dress for the Sand: The Giza Plateau is dusty and rocky. Leave your sandals for the rooftop; wear closed-toe walking shoes for the Pyramids.
4. The Sun is Strong: Even in winter, the Egyptian sun can cause burns. Sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat are non-negotiable.
